I’m having a major eyebrow moment lately. I’m obsessed with them, and I love that they are such a major player in the beauty world this autumn. I’ve documented my struggles before on finding the perfect brow filler. I have a laundry list of requirements: It needs to be a mechanical pencil. It needs to be thin-tipped for precision. And most importantly, it needs to match my dark-blonde brow hairs.
Here’s a pencil that fits all those needs, and then some: Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil by It Cosmetics ($24). I’ll start with the truly amazing aspect of this pencil: it’s infused with a patented growth complex that actually helps new hair grow. If you’ve got sparse spots on your brows, using this will help to fill them in faster. It’s also infused with biotin, the hair-and-skin vitamin, and it’s waterproof, smear-proof, and melt-proof. All that, plus a spoolie on the opposite end to tame stray hairs. Genius.
AND in case you weren’t sold already, for each pencil that’s sold, It Cosmetics will donate a pencil to the American Cancer Society to benefit programs that help women cope with the effects of cancer treatment (and hair loss) with confidence. That is truly beautiful.
Here’s a tip: the universal shade works for everyone only if you use it correctly. Fair-haired ladies need to press lightly on the pencil so it deposits less color. Brunettes and redheads should apply medium pressure to get the appropriate color, and black-haired girls should press down firmly to get the maximum color deposited on brows. Pretty cool, huh?
