Expect to hear the mournful cries of lipstick lovers this season. Autumn/winter 2014 is all about eyes. To really make eyes pop, other features get toned down–in most cases. Here are a few trends that appeared repeatedly on the AW14 runways at NYFW. Expect to see a lot of these, in many different iterations, come fall.
Major lashes: Gucci, Prada, and Rochas (pictured above) sent models down the runways with major falsies (even on the bottom of the eyes). Opt for a big, volumizing mascara or dramatic falsies to get the look. (Image via ELLE)
Exaggerated Cat Eyes: Extend the wing of your cat eyeliner out even further to get a bold swipe of black on upper lids. Another emerging trend: loading black liner onto your bottom lids and blending it into the wing, as seen here at Christian Siriano. (Image via imaxtree/Matteo Volta)
Blue Shadow & Liner: Blue was the hue of choice on the runways. Here, at the Christian Dior show, it was amped up with chunky glitter and accented by blue mascara-coated lashes for a monochromatic effect. (Photo credit: Kevin Tachman)
