Get In the Groove with MAC

MAC’s latest collection, In the Groove, draws on kaleidoscopic color and fashion influences to create a color-drenched collection. The new shades are shimmery metallics, but devoid of glitter. Glimmering eyes and highlight-kissed cheeks are contrasted by creamy, shiny lips. Color is blended for a soft, radiant effect.

Mineralize Eye Shadow Trio ($19.50) is the star of the show here. I really like these because MAC has changed the formula to a velvety-smooth, ultra-blendable, smooth-as-silk dream of a shadow. The color is really vibrant, glides on beautifully (goof-proof!), and stays put. The trio of complementary colors also takes the guesswork out of creating a defined or smoky eye – perfect for those who are trying to perfect their hand at new eye looks. Blue My Mind is pictured above, but I really love the beachy shades of Soften The Mood (right). Available in a total of 9 knockout color combos: Fresh & Easy (bright cool pink/shimmery rose/ice blue); Making it Easy (peach/shimmery gold/copper); Love to Love (creamy flesh/bronze/light brown); Style Influencer (icy white/ shimmery cobalt blue/dirty pink); Togetherness (lavender/metallic purple/steely grey); Cool, Calm, Collected (bone/icy pale green/sage); In the Groove (celery/ mauve-bronze/peach).

Powerpoint Eye Pencil ($14.50), long a makeup bag staple of mine, debuts in 3 new shimmery, rich shades: Navy Stain (royal blue), Permaplum (deep purply-plum–sooo getting this), and Stubborn Brown, which looks as rich as a chocolate bar. These aren’t going anywhere once they hit your eyelids, but the colors are limited edition, so grab them before they disappear.

Cremesheen Glass ($18), a supercreamy, supershiny gloss, is back with new shades, too. These glosses are perfect if you like lots of shine without a ton of shimmer or stickiness. The creamy look is a really striking combo when paired with the ultra-shiny glass; it’s not something you see everyday on lips. Available in 6 new hues: Fashion Whim (peachy beige), On the Scene (coral beige), Right Image (cool-toned pink), Going Casual (sheer lilac), Chillin’ (light white blue), and You’ve Got It (dirty beige-grey).

Lipstick ($14) gets bathed in 6 new shades: Creme d’Nude (pale peach), Jazzed (coral pink), All Styled Up (yellow-tone bright pink), I Like It Like That (deep blue-pink), Go For It (purple), and Call My Bluff (creamy coffee).

Mineralize Blush Duo ($23) gets dressed up in 5 new pairs: Happy Together (caramel/pearly beige); Hang Loose (bright pink/pearly lavender); A Little Bit of Sunshine (light brown/beige); Band of Roses (blue pink/pearly plum); and New Vibe (satin deep rose/bronze).

Wanna add shimmer to your cheekbones, or a pretty radiant glow to your entire face? Reach for Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle ($28). This large compact is perfect for dipping a fluffy brush in for large-area coverage, and the product will last a long time.

Zoom Lash mascara is also joins this collection as a repromote.
