Kari Gran “Radiant” Lip Whip

kari-gran-radiant-lip-whipKari Gran is a brand that’s relatively new to me; I discovered the company when I was researching my recent Green Beauty Brands post. I really liked the philosophy behind the company, so when they offered to send me some products, I was thrilled.

Before I get into an amazing new limited-edition product from them, I want to share why I instantly liked the company. They use no chemicals in their products, and they use organic botanical ingredients whenever possible. They handcraft their products (skincare and makeup) in a loft in Seattle and package them in glass bottles and containers that help preserve the products–and every product bears a label with a handwritten expiration date. Because the ingredients are fresh and preservative-free, these products have a shorter shelf life than others. I love that they make it so easy for you to know how long their products will remain effective.

To celebrate Pantone’s color of the year, Radiant Orchid, Kari Gran launched “Radiant” Lip Whip & Brush ($30). This formula is thick but not goopy; it glides on lips and instantly feels like it’s sinking in. It cushions lips and softens them up after just one use. And it smells like peppermint.

It felt comfortable and hydrating on my lips. It was still shiny hours later, until I had my morning coffee.

This shade of Lip Whip comes with a retractable brush, which is awesome. A little internal plastic shield covers the brush while not in use. To use it, pull the opposite end and the shield slides back as the brush pops up. I love this brush, and will be taking it with me everywhere.kari-gran-brush

The permanent line of Lip Whip contains shades Naked (clear) and Tinted (light pink), both of which come in peppermint or cinnamon-pimenta berry flavors. Radiant is definitely the most pigmented, colorful option.
