MAC Summer ’12: Casual Color

Ready for the weekend? (Who isn’t?) Summer weekends are the best; relaxed and warm, punctuated by breezy dresses or afternoons on the beach. Your makeup should reflect that same laidback feeling. MAC‘s new collection, Casual Color, is all about bringing that easy, relaxed vibe to your makeup. MAC says, “effortless and easy, these barely-there formulas feel like you’re wearing nothing at all.” It’s MAC’s idea of weekend chic: perfectly polished, yet not too fussy.

Casual Color Lip & Cheek Colour Pot ($20, LE): Simplify your weekend look to just one product for both your lips and cheeks. These pots do double-duty, and the monochromatic effect makes it look like you’re not wearing any makeup — they just mimic a natural flush. Dab these on with your fingers and tap to blend for a look that’s equally sexy and carefree. See colors above.

  • Prep + Prime Highlighter Pen ($23) in Bright Forecast (mid-tone peach coral) & Light Boost (soft, creamy yellow)
  • Mineralize Skinfinish Natural ($29) in Medium (creamy beige)

The collection hits MAC stores & counters tomorrow (June 7) in the U.S. and North America, and in late June internationally.

I’ve been reading on Twitter that some of the MAC pro artists are super excited for this collection; are you?Images via MAC

I really like these colors, and the idea of a “weekend” look. I usually tone down my makeup for work during the week, and turn it up for weekend nights out, but it’s nice to get inspiration for a relaxed day look too.
