Makeup Must-Haves

makeup-must-havesThere are items that every girl stocks in her makeup kit and buys repeatedly. They are the products that give us the exact look we love, the ones that make us feel beautiful, the ones that complete our kits. Here are my favorites. If you’re a longtime reader, you may have seen some of these products here before–that’s because I love them so much, I buy them loyally!

1. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Illuminating ($43): The ultime for a light coverage, dewy finish.
2. MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack ($16): Because black eyeliner is a necessity in my book.
3 & 4.  Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Taupe (formerly Ash Blonde) ($21)and MAC Eye Brows in Fling ($16): I switch back and forth between these brow pencils, but they are both great for my blonde brows; not too dark but still give a ton of definition. I especially love the thin tips and the convenient spoolie on the Anastasia version.
5. Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette ($54): Hands down, the best eyeshadow palette ever. I love the cool-toned taupes, and the finishes of these long-lasting shadows.
6 & 7. MAC Lipstick in Creme Cup and Creme D’nude ($16 each): Creme Cup is the perfect nude-pink. It’s one of those rare lipstick shades that just makes me look better. Creme d’Nude is a true nude, and a little too pale for me, but I like to use it as a base to tone down brighter lipglosses that I layer on top.
8. Beautyblender {original} ($20): It seems a little crazy to spend this much on a sponge, but really, it does make all the difference in the world when you apply makeup with this tool. Take care of it, clean it regularly, and it will be well worth the investment.
9. Urban Decay Perversion Mascara ($22): This mascara makes my lashes thick, long, and ultra-black in one swipe. It makes a total difference in my whole appearance, and makes my eyes look so much bigger.
10. MAC Brow Set in Clear ($17): The best brow gel. Tames unruly brows and locks them in place for hours.
11. Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potion {original} ($20): I don’t wear eye makeup without it.
12. Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer ($5): I hate spending a lot of money on concealers if I can find a drugstore dupe. This one never lets me down, and covers up my undereye baggage and blemishes expertly.
13. MAC 224 Tapered Blending Brush ($32): I tell everyone to get this brush. It’s a workhorse, and a total investment. It blends eyeshadow like no other brush on the market, and you can use it to apply shadow too. Blend concealer with it. Do almost anything with it!
