Summer beauty should be effortless, pretty, and comfortable. I always pare down my makeup and hair routines during the hot weather, but I never want to sacrifice feeling good about my hair, skin, makeup, and nails. Here are the products that make my life easier during the dog days of summer.
Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer ($44): I don’t want to wear foundation when it’s hot out (it slides melts on my skin and looks streaky anyway), so I opt for a lighter tinted moisturizer. This one from Laura Mercier has been my go-to for years; it gives radiance without looking greasy and provides nice, light coverage to even out my complexion.
Oribe Après Beach Wave and Shine Spray ($39): This texturizer is great for adding body and volume to waves and extending the life of a blowout.
Fekkai Soleil Beach Waves Spray ($17): Great for misting on damp locks before air-drying to bring out hair’s natural texture. It smells summery, too!
Wet Brush ($9): This brush is essential for detangling and brushing both dry and wet hair. Perfect for throwing in your beach bag or using to detangle strands before air-drying.
Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Mascara ($24): I love this mascara for summer because I curl my lashes, swipe this on, and it holds the curl for hours. So easy.
Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer ($15): I’m not a fan of drugstore bronzers (they usually apply blotchy), but this one is a winner. It glides on skin smoothly, blends easily, and gives even, sunkissed color. Comes in 2 shades; I bought the darker shade for more color payoff.
OPI Infinite Shine Nailpolish in Taupe-less Beach ($12): This creamy, cool, grey-ish taupe is a great alternative to nude polish.
c.Booth Walnut Shell Body Scrub & Cleanser ($6): I use this to exfoliate before applying sunless tanner. You can’t beat the price, and it smells great.
Loving Tan Deluxe Bronzing Mousse ($35): Absolutely the best. More details coming soon in a separate post!
