Two Sunscreens From DHC: Sun Protection Made Easy

DHC-two-sunscreensDHC, Japan’s top skincare company, kindly sent me a sampling of their extensive product range. Most of their products are olive oil-based, and harness the natural benefits the oil provides to skin. Now that summer is on the horizon, I have received many emails lately requesting recommendations for sunscreens, so I dove right into two of their most popular formulas.

DHC-camu-camu-day-milkCamu Camu White Day Milk gets its name from the camu camu berry native to the Amazon. The tiny fruit is packed with vitamin C (great for brightening skin) and antioxidants. This moisturizer gives skin a healthy dose of hydration, and it’s infused with light-reflecting particles. I put this on and instantly looked dewy and radiant. That was a nice added bonus, as I love a dewy finish. (If you’re not into that, you can always mattify with foundation or powder.)┬áIt absorbed quickly, and the smoothness it left behind helped my makeup apply a little more evenly. This lotion is lightweight; I’d compare the consistency to a thin face lotion.

DHC-white-sunscreenThe White Sunscreen ($25) is a true liquid: thin and fluid. You have to shake it up before you apply. When I put a few drops onto my fingertips, the product quickly started to slip through my fingers. I rubbed the sunscreen into my palms and gently patted it on my face to apply without making a mess. I thought it was going to be oily and feel greasy on my skin. It immediately sunk in and dried to a matte finish — the complete opposite of greasy! Within seconds, I felt like I was wearing nothing at all. You truly will forget you’re wearing this. It’s such an easy, quick way to meet your daily SPF requirement.

Both sunscreens are suitable for all skin types. They also wear beautifully under makeup; when I say that they were dry in seconds, I’m not exaggerating. No greasy residue with these at all.

DHC-sunscreens-boxesI love both products. I don’t want to pick a favorite…but if I had to, I think I’d lean slightly more toward the Camu Camu Milk. I just loved the glowy effect it gave my skin. But put it this way: I will be using both until the bottles run dry, & then I’ll be purchasing. These two sunscreens are fantastic, feel luxe, perform beautifully, and are affordable.

Have you ever tried these or any DHC products? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
